Inventec Corporation inaugurated last Thursday a new telecommunications equipment manufacturing plant in Mexico.

“Today we celebrate this new chapter of success for a world leader in the design and manufacture of telecommunications equipment. We are talking about the third plant on our border and a unique presence in the entire country, which, as we have already mentioned, has generated 2,200 new jobs for the families of Juarez and will generate thousands more over the next three years,” said Maru Campo, Governor of Chihuahua, at the event.

In August 2023, Tom’s Hardware reported that a new Inventec plant in Mexico, located in Ciudad Juarez, would be dedicated to the mass production of servers.

This expansion is part of a US$200 million investment that includes the construction of a 25-hectare complex.

The plant is part of Inventec’s strategy to strengthen its production capacity and meet the growing global demand for servers, especially in the context of supply chain constraints.

In addition, this plant will join the company’s other facilities in Mexico and the Czech Republic, where it also produces automotive parts.

According to the company, the strategic establishment of a resilient supply chain on a global scale involves continuous development at manufacturing facilities in Mexico, Thailand, Vietnam and the Czech Republic.

This approach, with proximity to markets and risk diversification strategies, strengthens the global production framework, aligning the demands and preferences of its customers.

The state government of Chihuahua reported that the investment in Inventec’s most recent plant was US$350 million.

 Artificial Intelligence

Inventec plans to continue prioritizing investments in research and development, as well as market expansion, especially in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) server development.

In particular, its efforts remain focused on the development of AI deep learning and inference servers to meet the changing demands of its customers.

Equipped with cutting-edge specifications tailored to cloud customers, the company foresees a solid double-digit growth trajectory in server shipments in 2024.
