Fábrica da Embraer em Chihuahua: mais de 1.000 empregos

Embraer’s plant in Chihuahua, Mexico, operates with more than 1,000 workers to manufacture internal coatings for the Brazilian company’s airplanes, said Francisco Gomes, Embraer’s CEO.

Globally, Embraer has 19,000 employees and one fifth of them are engineers.

Gomes reported that there is a fleet of 100 Embraer aircraft flying in Mexico. Of these, more than 50 are executive aircraft, three belong to the Mexican Air Force and the rest are commercial aircraft.

Embraer’s Chihuahua Plant

“Embraer has a product portfolio that is tailor-made to develop more business and collaboration with Mexico,” said Gomes while participating in the Mexico-Brazil Business Forum in Mexico City on Monday.

A subsidiary of this company, EZ Air Interior Limited, operates Embraer’s plant in Chihuahua. It produces interior parts for its Commercial Aviation segment. The plant started production and shipment of parts to Brazil in 2013. It reached full production capacity in January 2015.

Embraer is positioned as the leading manufacturer of aircraft up to 150 seats worldwide. This company finds one of its main opportunities in the direct replacement of its products. In particular, this is in regions where its aircraft are well perceived, such as North America and Europe.

In addition, specific markets such as India, Brazil, Turkey and Saudi Arabia show great potential. This is due to the growing development of regional aviation.

On the other hand, the segment of aircraft with fewer than 150 seats is experiencing global growth. The reason? There is a need to adjust the size of airline fleets.

In 2023, the company had revenues of US$5.3 billion, of which 93.5% was denominated in U.S. dollars.

Aerospace industry

On March 20, a ceremony was held at the Santa Lucia Military Air Base No. 1. At this event, Brazil was accepted as the “guest of honor” of the Mexico Aerospace Fair (Famex) 2025. This outstanding participation of Brazil in the fair will open opportunities to intensify cooperation in the aeronautical, space and defense sectors.

It also seeks to advance a strategic partnership between Mexico and Brazil. This effort aims to consolidate the sovereignty and autonomy of the aerospace industry. The then Foreign Minister Alicia Bárcena highlighted the importance of this collaboration for the development of both countries.
