FEMSA reached a definitive agreement with Grupo Traxión to sell Solistica for US$205 million.

The subsidiary currently operates in seven Latin American countries, including Mexico, Brazil, and Colombia. It also has more than 22,000 employees.

Coca-Cola FEMSA, another FEMSA subsidiary and the largest bottler of The Coca-Cola Company in the world, has a contract with Solistica to transport finished products from its bottling plants to its distribution centers in Mexico.

Since March 2024, Coca-Cola FEMSA has integrated Solistica’s operations into its Mexican operations. Thus, from its distribution centers, Coca-Cola FEMSA distributes finished products to retailers. It primarily uses its own fleet of trucks for this purpose.

In designated areas in Mexico, third-party distributors also play an important role. They deliver products to retailers and consumers, allowing cost-effective access to these areas. In November 2000, Coca-Cola FEMSA signed a service contract with Solistica for the transportation of finished products. Subsequently, in March 2024, the integration of operations took place.

In addition, FEMSA, through its strategic business unit, offers logistics services, point-of-sale refrigeration solutions and plastics solutions in all the countries where it operates.

Grupo Traxión

With respect to Grupo Traxion, FEMSA disclosed that the total consideration for the transaction will be approximately Ps. 4.06 billion (US$205.08 million), net of cash and debt.

Grupo Traxión faces several important competitors. In the freight mobility segment, it competes with Grupo Alianza Trayecto, Grupo TUM, Autotransporte de Carga Tresguerras, Transportes Castores, Fletes México, Transportes Marva and Transportes Monroy Schiavon. In addition, in the passenger transportation segment, its competitors include Grupo Senda.

Finally, in the logistics and technology area, Grupo Traxión also competes with companies such as DHL, Solistica, Kuehne + Nagel, Accel, CEVA Logistics and Ryder, especially in the 3PL warehouse management business.
