Comércio marítimo global: cargas secas a granel

Global seaborne trade volume of dry bulk commodity dry bulk commodities will record a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 0.7% between 2023 and 2027, according to projections by Frost & Sullivan.

This trade volume, which includes commodities such as iron ore, coal, and grains, reached approximately 5,230.1 million metric tons in 2018, following years of steady growth.

However, the Covid-19 pandemic, which began in early 2020, caused a notable contraction in dry bulk cargo transportation. This also affected global trade volumes.

Global seaborne trade

On the global seaborne trade front, confinements and economic uncertainty led to a 2.0% year-on-year decline in total bulk volumes in 2020.

The drop in demand for dry cargo shipping negatively impacted supply chain and distribution industries. These industries rely heavily on shipping raw materials and unfinished goods.

Fortunately, the total global bulk carrier trade volume showed a solid recovery in 2021 and 2022. This was due to the easing of logistics restrictions.

Además, la inversión en infraestructura y la actividad de construcción comenzaron a tomar impulso en 2021. En resumen, el volumen total de comercio de los graneleros ha experimentado un crecimiento a una tasa compuesta anual del 0.5% entre 2018 y 2022.
