In 2023, Nemak supplied more than 200 different components for engines, transmissions, structures and chassis, as well as for electric vehicles. These components are used in approximately 520 vehicle platforms that are in production or in the development stage. In total, there are about 1,550 vehicle platforms globally.

Design and engineering

Nemak uses various casting technologies in the production of its products, such as the injection or casting of molten aluminum in molds.

It also has extensive experience in machining processes. This combination gives it a competitive advantage in the market, as it enables it to offer the most appropriate technology for the design and production of components to its customers.

In addition, Nemak collaborates with its customers in the early stages of design and engineering for product development. In this way, the company fosters strong relationships, which translates into a competitive advantage for securing new business.

Nemak is the sole supplier for most of the components it produces and has been designated as a supplier for the entire engine design life cycle, which typically lasts six to eight years.

In comparison, the life cycle for interior components is four years, and for exterior components, two years.
