Baxter International, a global medical technology company, has five manufacturing facilities in Mexico and a Global IT Service Center in Guadalajara, Jalisco.
The other two plants are part of its Americas business, located in Atlacomulco, Estado de Mexico; Cuernavaca, Morelos; and Tijuana, Baja California.
Two other plants are in its Hillrom business, one in Tijuana and the other in Monterrey, Nuevo León.
In particular, the plants in its Americas segment produce peritoneal dialysis solutions, intravenous solutions and devices for their administration.
Baxter has approximately 60,000 employees worldwide who are engaged in the development, manufacture and sale of a broad range of products, digital health solutions and therapies used by hospitals, kidney dialysis centers, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, physicians’ offices and medically supervised home patients.
Baxter’s global presence and the critical nature of its products and services, which are sold in more than 100 countries, play a key role in expanding access to healthcare in emerging and developed countries.

On December 13, 2021, the company acquired the acquisition of all interests in Hill-Rom Holdings (Hillrom) for a price of $10.5 billion.
Including the assumption of Hillrom’s outstanding debt obligations, the enterprise value of the transactions was approximately $12.8 billion.
Hillrom was a world leader in medical technology, and its products and services help advance diagnosis and treatment, optimize surgical efficiency and speed patient recovery, while simplifying clinical communication and bringing care closer to the patient.
Its worldwide net sales reached $15.1 billion in 2022, an increase of 18% over 2021 in declared terms and 23% in constant currency.
Lastly, its financial results included R&D expenditures totaling $605 million in 2022.
