Coeur Mining projected that it will maintain its gold production level at the Palmarejo mine in Mexico.
In the last four years, this U.S. mining company produced just over 100,000 ounces of gold annually there.
Coeur Mining
The company estimates that it will produce 100,018 ounces of gold at the Palmarejo mine in 2025. It also projected that it will produce 52,000 ounces of gold at its recently acquired Las Chispas mine, also located in Mexico.
The Palmarejo gold-silver complex is located in the State of Chihuahua, in northern Mexico, and has been in operation since 2009.
This is Palmarejo’s gold production, in ounces:
- 2021: 109,202.
- 2022: 106,782.
- 2023: 100,605.
- 2024: 108,666.
In addition, the Las Chispas subway silver and gold mine, located in the State of Sonora in northern Mexico, began operations in 2022.
Coeur Mining’s US$1.58 billion acquisition of SilverCrest Metals Inc. closed on February 14, 2025, adding the high-grade, low-cost Las Chispas silver-gold operation to Coeur Mining’s portfolio of assets and creating a world-leading silver company.
Palmarejo produced 6 million 779,659 ounces of silver in 2024, while Las Chispas produced 5 million 650,000 ounces of silver in 2023.
Coeur Mining is a precious metals producer with assets located in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The company’s total production in 2024 reached 341,582 ounces of gold and 11.4 million ounces of silver. These figures represented year-over-year increases of 8% and 11%, respectively. They were also within the guidance ranges expected for the year.
Las Chispas
Estimated production guidance for 2025 ranges between 380,000 and 440,000 ounces of gold, and between 16.7 and 20.3 million ounces of silver. These figures would represent annual increases of 20 and 62%, respectively.
The projected growth is due to the recent acquisition of the Las Chispas operation and the first full year of production at the recently expanded Rochester operation. Together, these operations are expected to contribute 7.0 to 8.3 million ounces of silver and 60,000 to 75,000 ounces of gold. This would represent year-over-year increases of 75% in silver and 72% in gold.
