Heavy-duty vehicle production

In a down market environment, Daimler Truck’s North American Truck segment managed to increase sales in the vocational market, construction and specialty vehicles in 2024, expanding its product portfolio and thus cushioning the overall decline in sales.

The company recorded a slight decrease in unit sales in the United States with 156,187 units (-4%) and in Canada with 15,608 units (-5%) compared with the previous year.

Daimler Truck operates major production plants in Brazil, Germany, France, India, Japan, Mexico, Turkey and the United States.

The Daimler Truck Group brings together eight vehicle brands under its umbrella: Freightliner, Thomas Built Buses, Western Star, Mercedes-Benz, FUSO, BharatBenz, RIZON and Setra.

Its truck range encompasses light, medium and heavy trucks for long-haul, distribution and construction applications, specialized vehicles used primarily in the municipal sector, as well as industrial engines. The bus range includes city buses, intercity buses, coaches and bus chassis. Trucks account for the largest share of total sales volume.
