The company’s business model is considered simple, yet disruptive: it enhances its value proposition and drives customer savings.

It targets budget-conscious consumers through quality products at bargain prices.

The company’s total revenues for the 12-month period ended September 30, 2024 were P53.4 billion (about US$2.7 billion).

The product offering at 3B Stores includes about 800 stock-keeping units (SKUs). This range encompasses branded, private label and spot products.

Sales

Branded products: These are items from recognized national and international brands. They are sold at the lowest sustainable price to attract customers and increase traffic. In 2023, they accounted for 47.5% of sales. For the first nine months of 2024, this figure dropped to 41.2 percent.

Private label goods: These are developed by the company and offer equal or superior quality to branded options. In 2023, they accounted for 46.5 percent of sales. By 2024, they increased to approximately 54 percent.

Spot products: These include food and non-food items that complement regular inventory. They are offered in limited quantities and change every two weeks. In 2023, they accounted for 5.8 percent of sales. In the first nine months of 2024, they dropped to 5.5 percent.

This strategy allows us to offer variety, quality and affordable prices to meet customers’ needs.

Business model

The hard discount model is still at an early stage within the modern channel in Mexico. According to NielsenIQ, this format, represented by Tiendas 3B and Tiendas Neto, reached only 3.0 percent of Mexican grocery market sales in 2023.

Although large retailers such as Walmex (with Bodega Aurrera Express) and FEMSA (with Tiendas BARA) have ventured into this segment, Tiendas 3B has managed to compete successfully. Since its inception, the company has faced these formats as well as other consolidated players in the grocery sector. Its steady growth is proof of its strength in the market.
