Mexico displaced China as the leading exporter of goods to the United States in 2023.
Since 2007, China has been the leading supplier of goods to the U.S. market, surpassing Canada in that year.
From January to November 2023, the top positions among the largest goods suppliers were as follows: Mexico ($438,986 million), China ($393,137 million) and Canada ($387,727 million), according to U.S. Census Bureau data.
Exports
In relative terms, these shipments showed the following year-on-year rates: Mexico’s increased 4.8%, China’s fell 21.2% and Canada’s fell 4%.
The United States imports a wide range of products from telephones, computers and televisions, to clothing and footwear, industrial machinery and equipment, automobiles and auto parts, as well as chemical products, petroleum and petroleum products, food and beverages, and toys, among many others.
