The World Trade Organization (WTO) reported on Wednesday that 200 trade corrective measures were registered between mid-May and mid-October 2020.
That amount represents 84% of all trade measures not related to Covid-19 in the same period.
According to the WTO, the number of trade remedy initiations during the period was 33 per month, the highest recorded since 2012.
The monthly average of corrective trade cancellations recorded is the lowest recorded since 2012.

Regarding products, according to the WTO, the commercial remedial measures adopted during the period included the initiation of investigations on rubber and its manufactures (HS 40) 15.4%, plastics and their manufactures (HS 39) 15%, certain furniture and lamps (SA 94) 13.9% and iron and steel (SA 72) 10.3 percent.

The trade coverage of all trade remedial investigations initiated during the review period was $ 34.1 billion, or 0.23% of the value of G20 merchandise imports.
For completions, trade coverage was valued at $ 2 billion (0.01% of the value of G20 merchandise imports).
